 As women only make up a small portion of the inmates in the U.S. Prison System, this critical and precious group is often more overlooked and undeserved than their male counterparts. The prison system of America was designed with men in mind, and even today correctional policies rarely account for the special needs of women:

• On average women are sentenced to prison for non-violent crimes. 
• Women Prisoners have a higher rate of substance abuse than their male counterparts.
• Women are more likely to be the primary caregiver of a young child at the time of their arrest. 
• Women Prisoners are far more likely to have experienced sexual, physical, and emotional trauma in their past. 

At The Holy Bible for Prisoners, INC we are mindful about the special needs and challenges of incarcerated women. As we teach men how to be Godly men, we must also teach women how to be Godly women.  With a mission of love and service, The Holy Bible for Prisoners will incorporate the following content and procedures to assure as many women as possible that they are not forgotten, that they are valued as a child of God and created for a purpose:

• When shipping out Informational Brochures in bulk to Prisoners, we will always ship to at least one prison for women. 
• A portion of our In-Text Topical Articles and Essays will be targeted specifically to women.
• The Holy Bible for Prisoners will also include "A special message to Female Prisoners" series.
